I LOVE YOU MOMMY

Being a mother is not always an easy job. Yes I said JOB because parenting is a 24 hour a day 7 day a week job. In my opinion it's the hardest job a person will ever have in their lifetime, but also one of the most rewarding jobs.

Sometimes with the hustle and bustle of everyday life we sometimes find ourselves going through the motions of life. Get up, get dressed, get ready for work, get the kids ready for daycare/school, come home, feed your family, prepare for the next day. Then get up and start all over again.

With everything going on it's easy to overlook the small things. So a couple weeks ago when I was really stressed out and just wanted to go to sleep, I had given my daughter a bath and we were looking on her bookshelf for a book (a very short book) to read for bedtime, when she looked up at me and said "I love you mommy" with a smile on her face. Those words coming from my three year old melted my heart and suddenly all the stress I was feeling went away.

All I could do was pick her up with tears in my eyes and say "I love you too cutie pie", she then gave me the biggest hug her little arms could manage and it felt so good. When we laid down that night for bed (nope she still doesn't fall asleep alone but that's another story lol) I felt so light and had the best sleep I'd had in a while.

I don't know if she knew I had been a little stressed and feeling a little sad, but I do know that those words lifted my spirit and made everything I was stressed about leave my mind. It reminded me that there is a little person depending on me and I can't lose focus of what is really important. I'm a mother and there is nothing more important than that!
